Founder & Lead Vocal Coach
Bethanie Houghton
Bethanie Houghton is the Founder and Principal of Houghton School of Music. After graduating with First Class Honours in Theatre Dance from London Studio Centre, winning Best Musical Theatre performer, she established a successful career as a professional vocalist, performing internationally before becoming a sought-after wedding and events musician throughout the UK and overseas. Combining extensive industry experience with a passion for teaching, Bethanie founded Houghton School of Music to provide high-quality, personalised tuition in a welcoming and inspiring environment where every student can thrive
Vocal & Performance Coach
Sarah Ilett
Sarah Ilett brings over 35 years of performing and teaching experience to Houghton School of Music. A trained singer, she has performed in leading roles across the UK and has taught singing and musical theatre at Stagecoach Theatre School and Rebecca's Dance Studios.
Passionate about helping young performers grow in confidence, Sarah creates a supportive and encouraging environment where every student can develop their skills and enjoy making music.
Vocal Coach
Amy-Jean Lavin
Amy-Jean is one of our lovely Vocal Coaches here at Houghton School of Music.
With a passion for singing and performance, Amy-Jean loves helping students build confidence, develop their vocal technique and, most importantly, enjoy finding their own sound.
Her lessons are supportive, encouraging and tailored to each individual student, whether they’re singing purely for fun, working towards performances and competitions, or looking to develop their voice further.
